7기동군단, 엔지아커넥트와 TVWS 공동 프로젝트 추진을 위한 업무 협약 체결 [Signing of MOU for TVWS Project between ROK VII Maneuver Corps and NZIA]

  지난 1월 28일, 동북아 최강의 7기동군단(군단장 중장 최성진)과 엔지아커넥트(대표이사 김유석)가 TVWS(White Space) 공동 프로젝트 추진을 위한 업무 협약(MOU)을 체결했다. 이번 협약은 7기동군단의 제안으로 이루어졌으며, 최성진 군단장은 "대한민국 최정예 전력인 7기동군단의 생존성을 강화하기 위해서는 언제 어디서든 가장 빠르고 안정적으로 전술 무선 통신망을 개통하는 것이 중요하다"는 지휘 철학을 바탕으로 TVWS 기술을 선택했다.

  협약식은 7기동군단 사령부에서 11시에 진행되었으며, 이후 점심 식사와 차담을 통해 전통적인 기갑 전력을 넘어 우크라이나 전쟁을 통해 입증된 드론 전력 도입과 대응력 강화를 논의했다. 특히, 자연 장애물이 많은 한반도 지형에서 7기동군단의 기동 속도를 지원할 수 있는 전술 무선 통신의 필요성과 TVWS(White Space) 기술의 잠재력에 대해 심도 깊은 논의가 이루어졌다.

  협약식 직후 7기동군단의 긴급 요청에 따라 사령부를 중심으로 ▲1.5km ▲6.4km ▲8.4km 떨어진 작전 예정지 간 TVWS 무선 통신 개통 및 영상 전송 데모가 진행됐다. 사전 준비 없이 실시된 이번 현장 시연에서 모든 구간이 즉시 개통되었으며, 실시간 고품질 영상 전송에 성공함으로써 TVWS 기술의 우수성과 현장 적용성을 입증했다.

양 기관은 이번 MOU를 계기로 과학기술정보통신부 및 국방기술진흥연구소의 주요 실증 사업에 공동 참여하기로 합의했다.

또한,TVWS 무선 통신 기술을 활용해 소·중대 기갑 전력과 드론을 기동형·고정형 지휘소에 실시간 연결하는 통합 지휘 체계를 구축함으로써, 실제 작전 환경에서의 기술 유용성을 본격적으로 실증해 나가기로 했다.

  On January 28, the  ROK VII Maneuver Corps, led by Lieutenant General Choi Seong-jin(KMA 49th), and NZIA Connect, represented by CEO Kim YU-Seok, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to pursue a joint project focused on TVWS (White Space) technology. This agreement was initiated at the suggestion of the ROK VII Maneuver Corps, with Major General Choi emphasizing the importance of establishing a fast and reliable tactical wireless network to enhance the survivability of South Korea's elite forces.

  The signing ceremony took place at the ROK VII Maneuver Corps headquarters at 11 AM. Following the ceremony, discussions during lunch and informal talks focused on the need for enhancing drone capabilities as proven in the Ukraine conflict, moving beyond traditional armored forces.

  In particular, in-depth discussions were held regarding the necessity of tactical wireless to support the maneuverability of the ROK VII Maneuver Corps in the diverse terrain of the Korean Peninsula, which is characterized by natural obstacles.

  After the MOU signing, in response to an urgent request from the ROK VII Maneuver Corps, a demonstration of TVWS wireless network and video transmission was conducted over distances of 1.5 km, 6.4 km, and 8.4 km between operational sites.

  The demo, conducted without prior preparation, successfully established immediate connections and transmitted high-quality video in real time across all segments, confirming the superiority of TVWS technology.

  Building on this MOU, the ROK VII Maneuver Corps and NZIA Connect agreed to jointly participate in major demonstration projects with the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Defense Technology Promotion Agency. They plan to utilize TVWS wireless technology to connect armored units at the platoon/company level. and drones with mobile and fixed command posts, thereby demonstrating the utility of TVWS technology in real-time command operations.
